What's on FRIDAY 15th NOVEMBER FRINGE FESTIVAL

The Real People aka 'The Realies' have had several differnt line ups since forming in 1987 but ever present are the two brothers from Bootle Chris and Tony Griffiths. They have produced some of the finest indie tunes to date and have influenced so many bands along the way maybe most importantly Oasis. They supported Liam, Noel and co on some of their early gigs also producing many demos and providing vocals/ lyrics and studio time which led to tracks such as Supersonic, Columbia and Rockin Chair. Openly described by Ocean Colour Scene as one of their favourite bands they have since provided material for many acts most famously the top ten hit 'One By One' by Cher. The self titled debut album was released on Columbia in May 1991 featuring singles such as 'The Truth' and 'Window Pane' and was due to be followed by 'Marshmellow Lane' but sadly it never saw the light of day. In 1996 normality was resumed with the brilliant 'Whats On The Outside' album being released featuring singles 'Rolling Stone', 'Rayners Lane' and 'People In The Telly' The eagerly awaited 4th album is now on the horizon and times look very good and exciting for the band and their loyal fanbase. What's on SUNDAY 17th NOVEMBER FRINGE FESTIVAL

SWINGOLOGY

Were formed in 2005 by 5 musicians based in Crosby, Liverpool, to play the toe-tapping music known as Gypsy Jazz.

This style became famous in the 1930s and 1940s, popularised by the great Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, The band not only plays all the Gypsy Jazz standards, but a range of popular Jazz classics and some modern songs in the classic Swing Manouche style (the original term used for Gypsy Jazz)

THE SECRET UKULELE BAND

Have been playing music for more than 200 years (between them). In recent years they have been delighting audiences at gigs and festivals in their native Merseyside, around Britain and in Europe.

At a Secret Ukulele Band gig, you will hear Soul and Motown Classics next to up-tempo Country, by way of Led Zeppelin and high-octane Rock and Roll and inventive mash-ups. You'll hear old favourites with new twists and new songs that you'll feel you've always known. The one thing for sure is that you'll be singing and dancing from beginning to end.
